Why do most frozen food are cheaper than fresh food? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?

Seriously, when you compare the prices of frozen foods to fresh foods. The frozen products always cheaper--fruits, vegetables, meats, TV dinners?

I thought it would be cheaper because they have to cook and do other things to frozen food?

The are picked at the peak of the crop season and at the peak of abundance. They never could possibly sell all that product as fresh. The frozen food company contracts with farm Agra-business to grow the crop especially for them They are picked flash frozen and stored in huge freezer warehouses until they are neededby the consumer. Why do most frozen food are cheaper than fresh food? 10 points for the best advice. I think they might be less quality but idk.... also they need to not get freezer burn so easily, and the expritation date could hav sumthin 2 do wit it......
the pricedifference is mostly due to logistics.

frozen foods spoil less fast than fresh foods.

as soon as you pick a strawberry for example. a clock starts ticking. so youll need to transport -%26gt; process -%26gt; package -%26gt; transport -%26gt; transport -%26gt; shelve. and ofcourse all that takes time.

so some of the strawberries wil perish on the way. maknig fresh strawberries rarer than frozen ones. since you can take aslong as you want to transport frozen strawberries.
they are cheaper cuz u freeze them and they last longer than fresh foods.
Because of time of year and transport costs that is why fresh is more costly.
