When you have like 3 friends and dread going everyday? What's the best advice for getting through high school?
High school sucks for most people, but as a little comforting note, the people that like high school are generally the ones that make everyone else's lives miserable because this is the best years of their lives. Luckily you aren't one of those people, which means one day you will be able to say you survived high school. These are nowhere the best days of your life. I didn't have but three people that i would call my friends but I made sure that I didn't do anything that would make anyone else's life miserable while serving their time. You will come out with more patience and probably other values that will stick with you. Also, I don't want to say ';don't live for the moment';, but in a way that's what i want to say. Teenagers, self experience, tend to do things if it can be RIGHT NOW. If it has to be right NOW, it's either going to get you in trouble, isn't going to be worth your time and/or money, and has definitely not been given any thought. Try not to let your emotions determine your decisions is my best advice. It kind of goes hand and hand with the living in the moment advice since most decisions made in the moment are do to overactive emotional feelings towards the decision. I promise this time will pass faster than you think and then your second life starts. What's the best advice for getting through high school?
The lesson of life applies here -- more than half the battle is simply showing up! Find one or two things you plan to enjoy each day at school and focus on the positive. Assemble your friends into a supportive cohort and reward yourselves with an outing or by buying something small that you want when you complete each month with a ';very good'; attendance (no unexcused absences). Is it worth a MILLION DOLLARS to you? Well, that's the difference in earnings over working life of a HS grad vs HS dropout....
Just work to your full ability and think what you will get out of it at the end. Make sure you stay close to those 3 friends and just try to think as positive as you can and think you are lucky to have the opportunity to get an education.
