All you need to do is spend quality time with the little one. I also recommend some cheap toys, safe for kittens. They like paper bags, cardboard boxes and balls of aluminum foil. Don't ever give a kitten string to play with; if it swallows it, this could cause strangulation and emergency surgery, which is often unsuccessful. Kittens also like to watch goldfish, so this is cheap entertainment- just make sure the kitten can't get into the goldfish's tank. A better alternative is one of those cute videos that feature birds and fish. You can buy these at your pet store, and it will entertain the baby for hours. Another important part of having a happy kitten is good care. be sure to offer plenty of clean water, a fresh bowl of kitten food and a clean litter box. Get the kitten its shots at the vet, and please, consider spaying or neutering when it is old enough. Besides being a super responsible thing to do, it can prevent many undesirable behaviors (such as tomcats spraying in the house and female cats going into heat), and prevents a wide variety of health problems, including reproductive cancers. Ah simplicity, my Best advice to go with the others, find a shoelace or buy some catnip and have some quality fun, just the two of you. If the cat is happy, your doing a great job as is. Best of luck and enjoy your new found furry friend.

GIVE HIM AN HOUR WITH JUST YOU EVERY NIGHT. IT HAS A DOUBLE REASON. 1) THE KITTEN WILL BOND WITH YOU, AND 2) IF YOU PLAY WITH TOYS, YOU WILL FIND WHAT HE LIKES!!!

Never ever yell or shout at the kitten. It can affect their behavior.
