What is the best spiritual advice that you can give/have given to someone?

Do people ask you for spiritual advice? Do you advice others (whether they want it or not..! lol..) ? Whats the best spiritual advice you can give others?What is the best spiritual advice that you can give/have given to someone?
Sometimes people need advice (even if they do not ask for it per se). I sometimes say this:

when things come to a point where it is too much, then start to make silence and emptiness in your mind: meditate, retreat, etc..

I had found this in a Yoga book written by an Indian Yoga master (I think he was citing the Scriptures):

From the full, the empty is drawn,

From the empty, the full is drawn.

If our cup is too full, it will overflow and we have nothing much left.

If the cup is empty, we can fill it.

However, I could give the same advice in other terms:

when things are really going bad, one must try to be in a state of grace.

In the state of grace, there is silence, and tranquility. We put all worries and anxieties out (like out the door! so to speak, out the door of our mind. We give a rest to our mind), and we surrender to God.

It is in this peace and tranquility that we can find the solutions we are seeking, all the solutions!

That, I think, Jassie, is the best advice I ever have given, and ever can give.What is the best spiritual advice that you can give/have given to someone?
To be honest i,m not that much spiritual.Spirituality is like a hunger for sweet, some has sweet tooth some prefer sweet in moderation, some do not like sweet at all, and i consider myself as a moderate spiritual.

For that i try to be honest and never harm anybody with intention,and i consider myself a misfit person to give anybody a spiritual advice.
In spirituality, it is adviced not to advice others till you have any authority. In the sence you must achieve to certain level and then Guru orders you to guide others. But, small advices can be given and sometimes some people, initial seekers ask few thing on the spirituality. There is no harm doing so. For example if some body asks what name/mantra shall I recite? I generally tell them You start with your kuladevi/devata and It will guide you. OR some times if somebody asks what Guru should I adopt? I tell them It is your Mother and Father first. Then there are many books particularly biographies of saints. You must read all those and their discourses and literatures. That also will show exact path and follow your own ';Self'; till you get the right ';Guru'; in human form. Even if you don't get so, there is no harm. I have seen a few such saits who do not have Guru in human form but had achieved the great level of spirituality.

Generally, I recommend them (initial seeker friends) to read Ramkrishna Paramhans, Mata Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. And all other missions books by othe great saints in missions order like Swami Brhmananda, Swami Akhandananda etc. While reading these books your spiritual level surely boosts if accompanied with sadhana, I am sure.

Jai Shree Ram!!!!!
Human body is very precious not easily available do not waste even a single minute.It is given to us to do sadhana and uplift our spiritual level but unfortunately people waste it in worldly desires and nothing they get at the time of death to take with them expect the sadhana they have done in his life time
The Golden Rule.

';Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.';

ADDED: Did you know that A LOT of religions and secular beliefs have a similar saying? I just now learned this. Here are a few examples. :)

Some ';Ethic of Reciprocity'; passages from the religious texts of various religions and secular beliefs:

Bahá'í Faith:

';Ascribe not to any soul that which thou wouldst not have ascribed to thee, and say not that which thou doest not.'; ';Blessed is he who preferreth his brother before himself.';

Baha'u'llah

';And if thine eyes be turned towards justice, choose thou for thy neighbour that which thou choosest for thyself.';

Brahmanism:

';This is the sum of Dharma [duty]: Do naught unto others which would cause you pain if done to you';. Mahabharata, 5:1517

Man invents god in his own insane image in order to cope with the insanity of it all.

Life is not sane and neither is man.

Man constantly strives to make sense out of the insanity of it all.

Man attempts to justify his actions as a result of having to succeed at the demise of the next man.

“It all very parasites like,” counter productive and self destructive.

There is no such thing as race or religion this is just man creating and categorising in order to recognise.

Homa sapians wiped out other intelligent bipeds many thousands of years ago.

What we have right now are culture clashes as a result of many mind sets being colonialist, colloquial, uneducated and indoctrinated. (These weakness exploited by those at the top of the food chain) I.E. “Living in our own little world!”

It's all still very insane as long as primitive mans ego needs to invent where he came from in order to know where he is going. Never mind know what he is doing!

Maybe this will always be so.

We are a perpetually, accentuating product of environmental circumstance that has no choice other than to do onto others as was done onto us without incurring some damage and knowledge upon ourselves.

We learn and then perpetuate our behaviour whilst exhibiting our hierarchical status. We do this for the need to justify our perpetually instinctive actions to our selves. This is what we know as culture.

There is no escape and anyone at any time can become the victim, that’s if we are not all victims in the first place. Always look at your self and the consequences of your actions. Life is a perpetual accentuation of your self, in that I mean for what you do onto others is how others perceive you to be and you only exist as a result of the existence of others.

On the other hand God may have created us from the perception of his/her self, if so God will know you very well indeed. Good luck!
For every question asked, the questioner has the answer.

But choices are made. Responsibilities are turned away from.

Thinking makes a fool of every thinker.

Awareness, Heart, being centered and sound, whole and complete within is what all turn away from. Instead of looking deeply within, answers are sought from that which is unfulfillable and in rapid decay.

You are not desired to become whole, intelligent, aware, loving, kind, understanding. . .

You are expected to fit into what has become accepted as the norm.

You are expected to tithe and feel sinful.

Will you be the one who dares to find truth within?

Most just want some pleasure and nourishment.

Another days sunshine, sex, and teasing!

Death is just around the corner.

But who wants to be bothered with that!

We have choices,

The amount to being blind obedient servants with veiled hostility. . .

But is that all one can do, all one can be?

Perhaps you are a leader?

Have you truly helped yourself so well that you know without a shadow of doubt that your solution is valid for any and everyone who will apply it?

It is easy to say Love is the answer, but do we know what we are talking about when we say it? If one is truthful and honest they will admit ignorance.

Still, deep within there is the solution, a still small voice that speaks only in the deepest silence.

But again who dares go there?

Perhaps only the dreamers?

Can you entertain a new dream?

Can you be brave enough to walk into the valley of the shadow of internal darkness and death?

It does mean that to awaken to something new, the old must pass away! There is meaning to the butterfly from the Caterpillar.

But it will never happen unless you have the courage to dive deeply and consistently into the well of life within the silent spaces that are never truly silent.

One must learn to listen, but we think we know already.

How sad, and we go on suffering in our knowledge.

One kills for assumed righteousness.

One struggles to preserve the facade and keep the darkness hidden.

One is more afraid to be true to ones self than to maintain a mask, a lie, a burden that more deeply enslaves ones self every second it is clung too.

Would you be a true freeman?

Then you can do only one thing to break free.
The only way to heaven

if you really want to go to haven I will show you the way

believe in one God the absolute ,No 3 in 1 or Trinity or cross or crescent or idols’ or statues .

believing in all the prophets of God , Moses Jesus, Mohammad (peace be on up them all).

believe in his books and angels.

believing in heaven and hell.

believing the day of judgment or the day of resurrection

believing in the destiny good or bad and it is all comes from Allah.

Therefore (for) whomsoever Allah intends that He would guide him aright, He expands his breast for Islam, and (for) whomsoever He intends that He should cause him to err, He makes his breast strait and narrow as though he were ascending upwards; thus does Allah lay uncleanness on those who do not believe. (125)

which flows from a spring from which the servants of God will drink. (6) The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. (7) They feed the destitute, orphans, and captives for the love of God, saying, (8) ';We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. (9) We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day';. (10) God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. (11) For their patience, He will reward them with Paradise and silk. (12) They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. (13) The shades of the garden will be closely spread over them and it will be easy for them to reach the fruits. (14) They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. (15) Also there will be crystal clear goblets of silver containing the exact measure of drink which they desire. (16) They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water (17) from a spring named salsabil. (18) They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. (19) If you were to see it, you would find it to be a great kingdom with great bounty. (20) They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. (21) This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. (22) (Muhammad), We have revealed the Quran to you in gradual steps. (23) So wait patiently for the command of your Lord and do not yield to any sinful or disbelieving person among them (people). (24) Mention the Name of your Lord, mornings and evenings. (25)
PLEASE forget about GOD or whatever u call it as supreme power.

There is no God and there is no heaven and hell. Get rid of Pundits, Popes, Rabbis and Mullahs. Throw all scriptures which you treated as HOLY in Garbage bin. Take a deep and long breath and relax....Thats' it. Feel yourself as unburdened and be ecstatic without all this rubbish concepts.
Friend,

In one`s life . one meets three types of people.

1.Who are richer and more comfortable than you in high positions.

2. Who are equal to you in all respects.

3.People who are less fortunate than you and are poor , destitute, sick and suffering etc.

One MUST CULTIVATE the habit of behaving with them as below;

1. When you see people who are more rich and in high positions. DO NOT GET PREJUDICE. Do not get depressed and curse yourself and them too. Try to find out the the STRUGGLE THEY MADE to reach that position. If they reached that level in a Dhaarmic way , in a righteous way, try to follow the methods and achieve the results.When that person can succeed , why can not you? So please instead of cursing them, feeling prejudice , try to STRUGGLE AND REACH THE LEVEL. God blesses all the good efforts.

2. When you meet the people they are equal to you in all respects. normally we observe the EGO coming in the way in accepting that person as equal to us.Oh what does he know, I studied more than him.He does not know this and that. Treat them with respect as friends.Be affectionate. Be courteous to them and treat them as your brothers and sisters.

3. Next we come across the people who are less fortunate and and are living in utter poverty ,destitution.They may be homeless and sick and suffering. Do not curse them and say they are a burden to the Earth.No.Pray to God to bless them with good things And make their lives comfortable.Try , IF YOU CAN HELP THEM.

But NEVER IGNORE,CURSE or DETEST THEM.

This attitude helps to make your LIFE CALM AND SERENE.Your mind is calm and you are in a position to see the God in yourself first and in all others afterwards.

I hope that is the advise I can give, or rather a Suggestion I can give.
One of my colleagues was speaking on the late change in the NT which changed the real ';Golden Rule'; from ';Don't do to others as you wouldn't want them to do to you,'; to ';Do unto others as you would want them to do to you'; -- and he was commenting on he couldn't see any difference. So, we took out the books on this one, the two of us. Others heard us and joined in. In two hours we had a couple of dozen students discussing it. We forgot about time, we also ordered pizza to keep the discussion going %26amp; more students came in, so did some teachers, even the janitors, security %26amp; others joined in %26amp; made this an open discussion.

So, I found some of the sages discussion on it from before the common era, like before Herod's time. We all started looking through the old commentaries in Aramaic, Biblical Hebrew and Greek.

Then we all seem to get the ';same'; light bulb message and it was a deep moment for us all. Like if you are missionary, you would ';want'; others to hit on you as you would hit on them to convert by the modern version of the Golden rule.

But in the original or classic Golden rule, if you were a missionary and a cult member from a group came on to you, you would not like them telling you to believe as they do, thus, you wouldn't want them to do to you in what you would find hateful. Thus, the classic golden rule had the benefit of including the free will with your right NOT to be hit on or hurt, or gossiped or forced to hear ';their truth'; when you have your own, etc.

So, it was a night we all shared, students, teachers, friends, 'former' missionaries (it was such a great group discussion, they realized how they didn't like their own doors being knocked on my 'other' missionaries, and resolved to end their own cold calls unless asked)--and so many of us learned from each other what pains people physically, morally, emotionally, ethically, that it was a true revelation to know that the classic should never have been changed %26amp; we all became closer to each other after that night, just by me opening my mouth and asking a question . . . I credit not myself, but the group for opening up to others to see the value of debating, learning, %26amp; sharing among ourselves to see we all have needs %26amp; our own path to God %26amp; can be friends even when we disagree.

Many from that night are still close friends %26amp; it made many of us even closer in calling on each other for answers, research %26amp; sources--we all try to meet yearly since, if not in person, we go on the computer. With such a night we had, we can see why it was and is important to open up classes to all folks from all walks of life, like the ';free'; classes %26amp; courses available now on the computer for the us average folks.

Now if all of us can get the such discussions going using the webcam, imagine how we can become a global classroom and actual meet each other?
Sarveh janaah - Sukhino Bhavantu...(Sanskrit)

Let everyone be happy. This world is made up of sharers. Plants share oxygen, food, shade to other beings.

Explore the joy of giving to the deserved.
Look inside yourself to find Truth, once you find it you will have found God.

No.

Yes, I'm here am I not?

Love yourself and everyone else also.
Try to be simple and you will become spiritual automatically. Don't pretend to be spiritual, otherwise you will not remain of this world as well as that world.
I don't compliment my advice.

But I do try to do what I was told once by my mother.

';Just do what is right.';
';Our soul is same as others except for the 'Sanskar' and Impressions';.

';Soul can't be differentiated as made-out in our World.';

';Soul can be recognised as Peaceful, Blissful and Free';
to exploit love in true senses what you treasure as innocent.
My advice:

Learn spirituality from a guru and not from any Tom, Dick and Harry found especialy in YA
I will say God exist and believe him, never hurt others knowingly.
Don't take spiritual advices

Use brain
';God is living within you';---Find a perfect master to realise it.
Never believe in anything that doesn't agree with your own feelings
I appreciate warmth becuz i've been cold.
Your REAL family is who you make it.
Don't worry, be happy.
';God is one and he is Everywhere';
Be true to yourself.
Be nice.
Avoid hell at all costs.
trust in the Lord... and he will make your path straight :-)
go and get yourself a bottle of beer
