What' is the best advice you would give to someone who owns a male Betta fish?

If your Betta is living in a small glass globe commonly known as a ';Betta Bowl'; that holds about a cup of water, then it's time to upgrade to a bowl with no less than 1 quart of water. While Bettas can live in those small containers, it's really not good for them. Smaller quantities of water can have fluxuating water temperatures, and your poor little betta doesn't like that all too well.





Change your water weekly (if your tank is non-aireated). If you keep your Betta in a tank, then care for the tank as you would for other fish: change about 1/4 of the water every couple of weeks, replacing it with de-chlorinated water.





Bettas are more active, show their colors better, and are easier to keep healthy when kept at a temperature of about 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit, but they can tolerate temperatures as low as 65F.





You can feed your Betta a few pellets or a very small pinch of flake food daily (follow the directions on the food container.) If you want to make your Betta really happy, you can feed him a variety of live foods including frozen brine shrimp, and even mosquito larvae or fruit flies. Don't overfeed your Betta!!!!





YOu can also provide your Betta with some buddies!! They fit right into a community tank with other peaceful fish (neons, guppies, platies, etc.) provided the water flow through the tank is not too strong.What' is the best advice you would give to someone who owns a male Betta fish?
Don't put it with any other betta fish, do NOT put it in a betta bowl with a light, direct light is not good for them, do not keep him in anything smaller than one gallon, don't believe what petstores may say... they need to be fed at least once a day... not two or three times a week like many care sheets say. If he is a petstore ';veiltail'; betta, do not attempt to breed him, the resulting 200 baby fish will be basically worthless, and you will have no where to go with them. Make sure your filter is not too strong, they are not made for turbulent water; if you are not using a filter, make sure to change the water every two to three days, using only treated water... most tap water contains chemicals which are toxic to many fish.What' is the best advice you would give to someone who owns a male Betta fish?
The best advice would be to do some research online, or ask your local pet/fish store about how to properly take care of your new fish.
I think that you defiantly should not put it with another male Betta. You could also breed them but make sure that as soon as the female has her eggs take her out and then the male will take care of the eggs. But you will need another tank for the babies.
Never put it with another Betta fish they will fight. And it loves light. Get a special made fish bowl for bettas that have lights with them.
Do not put it with any other male betta fish.
To see him in all his glory, fins spread put another male betta in a separate bowl against his or put a mirror against his bowl. They are beautiful. If you want to breed him please find the prettiest female you can; this can be hard since most females are brownish. Let them court, in separate bowls for a few days then put them together. Use a larger container because when they make a bubble nest and put eggs in it you need to remove the FEMALE!! The male takes care of the hatchlings. If you have luck with the hatchlings remove papa after a few weeks. When the babies are large enough to tell apart male from female you are going to need bowls for each male. The females are not prone to fighting and can stay together unless they are crowded then you need to have some more tanks for them too. Good luck.
you can get a female Betta fish and put it in a tank next to it and if they dont fight you may be able to mate then and have baby fish. sometime you can put Betta's I'm with other fish
