What is the best advice you have for someone planning on getting pregnant?

I know the basics (eat right, no drinking/drugs...etc), but I want to know from woman who have been pregnant (or known someone who was) if there are any special tricks you guys had out there? Any good advice? What is the best advice you have for someone planning on getting pregnant?
Have your husband walk around in boxers if he doesn't already wear them.

Buy yourself a sexy nightie.

Enjoy yourselves. Don't worry about when you're ovulating... just have sex every day! If you relax and let things just happen you will not only be less stressed but it will happen sooner. How many couples try and try forever, finally give up, and get pregnant the next month?? It happened to my cousin.

Don't tell family you're trying. They'll hound you every month, and if you're not preg it will get you depressed. Keep it a secret between you and your husband. Enjoy yourselves and I wish you the best of luck. What is the best advice you have for someone planning on getting pregnant?

Are you married??? You don't say. But, first off you should eat right, veggies, fruit, etc, no drugs, no alcohol, exercise. Make sure you see your doctor. Take some parenting coarses. Get some books on getting pregnant, being a mother.
The only advice I will give, is be sure this is what you want. A baby is non-returnable. It is a life-long commitment, and it

WILL CHANGE your life.

I love being a parent, but it is not for everyone. Wish you the best
Don't do it. Hate to discourage you, but the world is a jacked up place and it ain't gettin any better. The ozone layer is damn near depleted and all of our food is genetically engineered. Scary times for us, I can't imagine what it would be like in about 20 years. Just something to think about, if you haven't given it any thought. If you have given it thought already and decided to do it, just be prepared for your baby to be very gassy if fed on formula. Most formula makes children extremely gassy and uncomfortable. Breast feeding is the best way to go. Best Wishes.
do it... all night long.
just make sure its the right time for both you and the hubby. And good luck.
Don't do it!
sex at night not in morning. if you follow the natural family book you will have a better idea of how your body shows you signs that you are fertile. me, i just look at my husband and get pregnant, for some it can take a couple years. if you havent read the book then here are some tips: your body temp will rise, but you have to take your temp before you get out of bed, and at the same time every day. you will notice a pattern every month. then there is the gliding rule. when you wipe your self in the bathroom, the toilet paper will glide like a slippery feeling, the tp won't catch. you can also check your cervix manually, with clean hands use two fingers everyday and feel the position of your cervix.up or down. you will notice during your fertile time of the month your cervix will be soft and up when ovulation starts to end you will see a change to down and hard. they say that when the cervix is soft it should feel like the tip of your nose. this may seem embarrassing to some women but the process of giving birth is much worse. there is so much more to these methods that i just can't explain with out charts. but here is the best advice i can give you, your body will tell you when your ovulating you just need to look for the signs. remember too they say that it takes a full year to get nfp down so don't get frustrated. it is a great method to plan having or not having childreen. but it takes a great deal of control and awareness. good luck to ya!
REST and lots of it. You wont believe how tired and exhausted you will be in the beginning and end of your pregnancy. Go with it...dont over do it and take a nap. You will feel much better and it will help your body be able to fight off the germs, like colds, flus, etc. oh yeah, get a flu shot in the fall!
Get married first.
Get a doula for your birth. I can't say that enough times.
Take your prenatal vitamin before you go to bed. Don't over eat when your hungry. (These are my tips for morning sickness, for a lot of women it just isn't in the morning.)
First marriage then great sex a lot of it to.

Injoy
Start on a good pre-natal vitamin now.

Get as much sleep as you can now.

Remember that you are still having the dirty sex ..... so it can be enjoyable.
It all depends on how your body handles it. Go get a physical exam by your gyno first. He will give you lots of good advise. Start taking prenatal's now. You can also add extra folic acid (ask your dr how much you should have) That is the most important vitamin. We have had a hard time getting pregnant %26amp; it's very frustrating. If it goes on for over a year, make sure %26amp; have his sperm count checked. There's also this REALLY cool ovulation monitor you can buy at rite-aid, walgreens, etc... It's around $150, but you will know exactly when you are ovulating. If it turns out that your not ovulating, you'll know %26amp; your Dr can start you on fertility meds.
Get married first if you aren't. Children need both parents; things are getting worse. Also make sure this is really what you want. A child is a full time responsibility.
A friend told me once to stand on my head ';after';...DIDNT WORK! LOL

Good luck to you...

What is your best advice on Brazilian waxing?

Do you get the same results @ home? What is your best advice on Brazilian waxing?
ha at home....never do it yourself unless you can stand to inflict pain upon your self and not quit halfway through.

I hurts like hell...i have to get it done professionally because they do it quick and it is far less painful in one rip.

i chickened out and ended up with a strip because it hurt too much to continue. i personally recommend a professional do it.

But if you want to do it at home use surgi wax it is the least painful...its what my friends use...they can stand the pain, me i prefer a professional...good luckWhat is your best advice on Brazilian waxing?
You don't get the best result at home. You can't reach the back or the inner part. I charged $40.00 including the butt/crack . It is worth it.

That sounds even more painful than getting it done by a professional!

I'd say you wouldn't get the same results, as it will be harder to see all the hair that needs to be waxed, as well as keeping it taut and pulling the strips off at the same time! I've tried waxing my under arms, and find this very difficult, and flinching in pain makes it harder!
I have never tried it, but I have heard it hurts like hell. I cant stand an eyebrow wax so I shave.
see a professional. unless you want one or more of your friends to see you before, during, and after the waxing. not to mention having an amateur PULLING OUT YOUR PUBIC HAIR. Oh the pain of it all.
just do it, its silk smooth.

What is the best advice you can give a young person just starting out with no experience for getting a job?

I work for a staffing firm and am the business development mgr...I have found that with or without experience 9 time out of 10 an employer is going to look over your work history before looking at where you worked...what I mean by this is that most companies would rather have a person with no experience and have a long history from one or two companies then to have a guy with great experience and changed jobs every 6 months. Make sure that if you are taking a job you have done your research and know it is something that you know how to do or are very interested in learning how to do and that you have intentions of staying there for a time rather then to settle for the first job you find until something better comes along...work hard, learn as much as you can, make a great impression and make sure that if you ever were to leave you give a 2 wk notice and get that letter of recommindation...those will be extremely usefull in seeking new and improved jobs with better pay if you have referals that state that you are valuable and hard working! Good luck and remember that no matter what you choose to do your future is what you make of it!What is the best advice you can give a young person just starting out with no experience for getting a job?
I like Jesse's answer. In addition to that, if you have teachers, counselors, or community business people who would be willing to write a quick letter of recommendation, it would be helpful. What is the best advice you can give a young person just starting out with no experience for getting a job?
Make sure you dress appropriate and act/talk properly - no one wants to hire someone who looks like a bum off the street with poor verbal skills.
The best advice I can give is to tell you to be honest and open and just be yourself. If the employer is going to hire they don't want no surprises .
don't be too picky. and just 'cause you get a job doesn't mean it's time to stop looking. and don't give up.
BE POSITIVE! Your personality is key. The rest... The employer can train you on.
Evaluate what you're good at - your talents, then look for jobs that will utilize and reward them. List your talents %26amp; positive personality traits in your interviews. Resolve to show up on time everyday.
I say be yourself. That is the best way to approach it.

it doesnt mean that hearing and seeing are bad, it just means that the vast majority of info out there is unverifiable and possibly false, therefore you believe more than you know.
My Grandma always said ';Lazy ones work twice';. It is so true is all aspects of life. I awlays tell my kids this when their being lazy and would rather try and trow trash then miss and have to get up and walk over their and throw it away again....Lazy ones work twice.!!!!!!!!!
My dad said to me ' do what makes you happy'. I know that it sounds corny and l know dad does not know how to turn on a computer or even what the internet is but, if you are out there dad, l love you with all my heart.
Everything turns out ok in the end, so if things aren't ok... just remember that it's not the end. It made a huge impression on me, i still use that thought to get me through the hard times.

I dont know about the best advice from someone else, but I know that I should always follow my intuition. Its always right, unfortunately I had to learn that the hard way.

Don't get married.

If you must get married, get a pre-nup.
There are 3 sides to any story. The two parties involved side and the truth.
Put God first then love yourself.
Even though they say they want romance during sex, if you don't hit it fast and hard... someone else will.
Always chase your dreams as one day they WILL come true!

The most important thing I learned in grad school was: Never turn down a breath mint.
the best answer i have ever receive from some one is that i should have no trust to any body.
Keep your chin up!

What would be the best advice you'd give to a Taurus?

Mine would be that they can go round obstacles as well as straight through them.

Also whats your sun, moon rising sign. I'm Virgo with Aquarius Rising

If you can think of good advice for any other signs as well that would be cool. What would be the best advice you'd give to a Taurus?
If you have children, don't think of them as your possessions. They don't exist to serve your needs. Don't be possessive of your children or your partners. What would be the best advice you'd give to a Taurus?

  • I'm about to be living on my own for the first time. What is the best advice for me not to screw up too bad?

I'll be joining the Navy and be on my own for the first time. I'm not sure what to expect on my except for bills and taxes. The Navy will house me, at least. what should I watch out for?I'm about to be living on my own for the first time. What is the best advice for me not to screw up too bad?
Yep the Navy may house you, but trust me, the furnishings and such are not to die for. If you live on base, then you pretty much have what they provide. But if you go into a place of your own, you'll want your own stuff eventually. When you are ready to buy your own stuff, watch the local sales in dept stores for nice furniture and collect enough for your place over time. Also you could look in classified ads in the newspaper for things that are being sold that are still in good condition. If you buy appliances, it's a good idea to save up a bit and buy the better brands right from the start instead of buying something like that cheaply. I always recommended to my sons to try and get a sofa bed when they got a couch, cuz it will give you an extra place to sleep when you have friends/family over. Also suggest instead of buying a chair or love seat, to just get another long couch. If you can only get them one at a time, that's cool, they don't have to match either. One of my sons had enough $ to buy either his bed or his couch first. He got the sofa bed first, used it for his reg. bed, until he had the $ to get his bed. And try not to go for less expensive on buying your first mattresses. The better the quality, the longer it will last. Not to mention how much better it will be for your back. Ok, the rest of what you buy furniture-wise you don't need to be so picky on, regarding prices. Hit up thrift stores, garage sales, ads in the paper etc. for anything else you might want.

In your kitchen, buy quality pots and pans, best not to try and save $ on those. Cuz they will last longer, etc. Dishes, silverware, glasses.. All that can be bought at thrift stores, on sale, etc. Towels are another thing to try and get good quality vs. saving $. Please try not to fall for those get 30+ towels, washrags set for a really low price. What you'll get will be really thin towels that won't last long. Maybe a few cheap towels to get you going, but then try and buy a good towel every month or so, building up a nice quality collection over time. :)

Many folks may not agree with me on this next suggestion, yet it's the best thing I can suggest for you. And that is, if you have credit cards, keep one for emergencies and cut the rest up. Try not to use credit at all, if you can possibly get away with that. Cuz using credit cards can get totally out of hand in a big fast hurry, and finding yourself in debt up to your earlobes won't be any fun at all! Two of my sons followed that advice, and one didn't. The one who didn't is still digging himself out from under. Just saying.. If you simply *must* use credit, use it sparingly to the point where you can pay it off each month. At the very least, pay off more than the minimum amount required each month. Cuz if you pay only the minimum payment, it really doesn't apply to your balance due, it's just paying the interest, if that.

Ok.. lemme think.. tap tap tap.. Oh yeah! lol.. try to save out of every paycheck at least 10% in an emergency fund, and 10% in savings. Then don't touch a penny of either one unless it's a DIRE emergency. %26lt;-- A dire emergency is *not* when you've downed the last six-pack, ok? rotfll.. A dire emergency is when your mom, for example, needs you home at once, and you'll have the $$ to get there for sure. :D That money can build up over time and you'll surprise yourself how much you'll have soon.

Buy store brands, they usually are the same quality, just with the store's name on them. Course, being in the Navy, you'll be able to shop at the PX, or whatever the store on base is called these days.

And at least once a week, call your mom. heh ;) Go gently with her, cuz trust me, been there, she's probably going to have a hard time in 'letting you go' out into the mean cruel world.. lol. Probably more scary for her than it may be for you. Letting you go may be hard for her to learn! But you need it and so does she. ;) Also, she will still 'need to be needed', just as much as you need to test your own wings, so to speak. So every now and then think of something that only she can help you with. It will make her feel good, and it will make you feel good to be 'mothered' just a little. Then you can go right back to being your macho hey look at me I'm on my own self again.

Oh yeah, stay away from the clubs on base and those in town. Stay away from the 'wicked city women', lolol who often do swarm these places, especially on and near payday, ok? They will NOT be the ones you'll want to bring home to mom to meet!!!!! ;) When you do go offbase and into town, only carry just a bit of money that you'll need. Leave the rest home. There really ARE money-hungry robbing fools out there who just sit around and watch for newbs to come trotting into town with their entire paycheck in hand. Just use good sense and you'll be ok. Meet nice girls at the local church, park, etc. heh

Have fun and good luck! Exciting times for you ahead!

MystI'm about to be living on my own for the first time. What is the best advice for me not to screw up too bad?
Never borrow money (except for a mortgage - but if you're in the armed forces, I would recommend not buying a house until you're settled down and not active duty anymore). Live within your means. Set up a budget. Do not use credit cards. Build an emergency fund.

I would strongly encourage you to go to Dave Ramsey's website (http://www.daveramsey.com) and go through Financial Peace University (locally, if possible - seriously, if there is one near you, do that as it's a much better class in person - otherwise, take the class online).

Follow Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps and you'll be on the road to financial prosperity and peace.
Do not use credit cards. Do not use credit cards. Do not use credit cards.

Oh, and do not use credit cards.
    Never play cards with a man named ';Doc.';

    Never eat at a place called ';Moms.';

And never sleep with a woman whose troubles are worse than your own.
Be serious and proactive about your finances. Sit down and figure out a budget. Write down all the money that you have, and what you expect to earn. Then write down your expenses and devise how you will spend your money. What can you afford (or not afford)? Be religious about sticking to your budget and you will do well. Assuming you keep an income, of course.
Never loan money no matter what the story is that you are given unless you wish to never see it again.

Don't tell anyone any of your personal business.

Keep your stuff locked up, always.

    Save your money.

    Don't get drunk.

    Don't catch the clap.

    Don't start smoking.

Take lots of pictures after you get out of training.

Don't take anything with you when you start that you don't want taken away from you.

Don't get mixed up with the bad guys.

    Best Wishes

    .
Beware of the NCO club, and/or the enlistees club. These are bars, where the base rejects hangs out. I say ';rejects'; because when I was in the service (Air Force), all the alcoholics in my section were regular patrons. All the once always getting in trouble with base police are regular patrons.

After you finish basic training, and are sent to technical training school, the NCO and enlistees clubs will be your downfall. People who fail their technical training phase, are usual patrons who frequent the NCO/Enlistees' clubs. The women who hang out at these clubs are often civilian single moms, looking for a BF (future husband), so she can collect on the benefits of being married to a serviceman.
Ditto what the first poster said - don't run up a bunch of debt. If you want something, save up for it.
Your best source for information is from your best friends - your parents.
concentrate on your work and in free time relax.
    Create a budget
The three big ones -- illegal, immoral, and procrastination. Don't steal (even if you are SURE you will get ';away'; with it), don't sleep with your best friend's girlfriend (even if she says they have broken up), and pay your bills and make good on your promises on time.
If anything comes to pass that seems too good to be true, it probably isn't true.
    Hello,

Soon if you have not already you will be getting credit card applications. Do not fall for them, scams and it will get you in debt.
Only spend what you have. Meaning, if you can't afford it, don't buy it. If you get into credit and having to work to pay for things you bought in the past, you'll never really be able to have a good time in the future. Keep your home organized so that you aren't cluttered and anyone who just ';stops in'; won't be catching you off guard. Watch out for the quick loan places and people who will take advantage of you and your couch! It's your home and you are paying the price of being in the Navy to pay for it. Take care of it and don't let anyone through your door that doesn't respect you or what you do to have it.

When I first lived on my own I was excited...until the 3rd day or so and then I got kind of lonely. Not because I didn't have any friends, but because there wasn't anyone around that I could just turn to and talk to. I learned I had to make an effort to stay in touch with the people I cared about.

Good luck and thank you for serving in the military.
    Never live beyond your means...
IF YOU DONT WASH YOUR DISHES STRAIGHT AWAY , THEY NEVER GET DONE!!. that reminds me ........
